Get the best SpareMin experience.

Whether you’re a veteran SpareMin user, or trying out the app for the first time, we’ve put together our top tips on making the most of your SpareMin calls.

    • SpareMin is best with friends! Get a friend to download the app so that you can call and talk to them about whatever you’re passionate about.
    • Take advantage of the dial-in feature. You can also record calls with people not on the app. Just tap Requests —> Start Taking Calls, and ask your friend to dial in to your personal SpareMin number (available on your profile page.)
    • When publishing your call, enter a brief but clear description, and use hashtags! That way if anyone is interested in #sports, #travel, #politics, #TaylorSwift, or what have you, they can find your conversations on SpareMin.

Send us any questions at – we read all of your emails and will respond to them personally. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to stay on top of the best conversations happening on the app every day.

We can’t wait to hear from you!

SpareMin and Creative Tech Week

SpareMin is a proud partner of Creative Tech Week. We are inviting experts and participants at the conference to do some 5 min long timed interviews and discussions via SpareMin, that can be shared out to help promote all the exciting people, events, and things happening during Creative Tech Week.

Here are some instructions on how to use SpareMin

    • Get on the SpareMin app (iOS/Android) and make sure the person you want to talk with is on the app too! (By the way, If you want to be interviewed, Oliver from SpareMin would be happy to do so, send him a talk request here: @OhWellington on SpareMin.)
    • Have the person you want to interview send you a talk request on SpareMin. (The easiest way to do this is to give them your SpareMin @handle, or to use the share button from your profile screen.)
    • Make yourself available for calls, and as long as the other person is free, you’ll get a call, and can connect for 5 minutes.
    • After the call, be sure to share your profile link out to your social networks so that other people can find your recordings, and maybe even send you a talk request as well.

Note: If you would like to have your discussion featured on the creative tech week website, just shoot an email to and he will take care of it for you

Two Steps to a Better SpareMin Profile

A lot of people have asked me what to do to make the most out of their SpareMin profile. There are really only two things to do: Improve your bio, and do an intro recording.

Step 1 – Bio

After you have downloaded the iOS or Android app and logged in via Facebook or Linkedin, you’ll be prompted to enter your Bio. This is your chance to let people know what you are on SpareMin to talk about. If there are many topics you’d like to take calls about, put them all into your bio, more people will find you and send you talk requests.

Some current SpareMin users include investors, entrepreneurs, pastors, comedians, podcasters, bloggers, and authors. Be sure to include a few keywords around areas of interest as well. For example, entrepreneurs and investors often put in their school affiliations, any groups they are active in, notable companies they have been a part of, etc. For a pastor, this may include areas of worship, congregation name, and location. It’s up to you, so feel free to make your bio long or shot, just keep in mind that this is the main way people find you on the app.

Step 2 – Intro Recording with @SpareMinIntro

The next step that I encourage everyone to do is to send a talk to request to SpareMinIntro. This is a great way for you to introduce yourself to the community and be featured on the platform. Essentially, it is just a 5 minute long chat with someone from our team about what you’re up to. You can use it to promote yourself, your company, your book, or just to have a short conversation and give everyone a sense of who you are. To do that, just send a talk request here, you’ll be notified via push notification and email when SpareMinIntro is available. You can then call in and do your intro call.

Thanks for checking out SpareMin. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a talk request, I’m one of the founders and @Ohwellington on SpareMin.
